Erin McGrath's Biography
Hi there! :) Thanks for checking out our staff pages... we love your interest in who we are. I am currently the California Regional Camp Office Director. I oversee our Southern California Camps and Retreats.
I've been a part of FCA camp since 1994. I was about to be a freshman in high school and the Varsity Basketball Coach talked my mom into sending me to FCA camp in San Diego. An experience that i would have passed up on, became an experience that changed my life. I had grown up in a Christian environment, but there was something about camp... about being away from everything i knew, and about the people and how they interacted... the Lord grabbed my heart because of it. I was drawn closer to Him through the people at camp and wanted more of it. So every year i couldn't wait to come back to camp and every year the Lord spoke significantly into my heart. Over the years at camp, i've been everything from a camper to a huddle leader, to water crew, intern, Assistant Director to Camp Director. Wanting my peers to experience a taste of what i had experienced at camp, we started an FCA huddle on our high school campus at Redwood Christian Schools. Little did i know that over these years the Lord would be preparing me for the work He has called me to now.
After High School I came on staff with FCA in the Northern California Bay Area office and was a field representative for about 2 years. Then I began to pursue my college degree, a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, to teach Physical Education, but the Lord had other plans. Instead, in the spring of 2004, He moved me down to Southern California to work with FCA in the Camp Office.
So here I am... a San Francisco Giants fan living in Dodger territory, all for the sake of His Name. :) I'm really excited for what He has in store for this ministry and the lives He will draw and will heal and will challenge through these camps and retreats... mine included.
